Fab against Failsworth-Part 2!

November 24th

Uppermill 2 - 2 Failsworth

On a bitterly cold and frosty saturday morning at 8.30AM! We once again played Failsworth in a League game. There was a welcome return for Kate after breaking her arm.

Our girls didnt respond as well to the cold and quite slippy conditions and went a goal behind in the 1st half. Luckily, they seemed to warm up just before half time and grabbed a goal back through Caitlin H. Failsworth's 2 strikers kept our defence on their toes and with the help of some good goalkeeping from Emily, everything was set up for our team to come alive!

The second half though started the same as the 1st. Failsworth grabbed a lucky goal and it wasnt till 5mns before the end that a fantastic, skillfull run through 4 players by Amy, helped us to secure a draw. a very different game from last week.

Fabulous against Failsworth

17th Nov

Uppermill 6 - 2 Failsworth Dynamos

The girls, this week, really played as a team and put into practice things that had been discussed over the last few weeks. It started a bit scrappy but soon Uppermill were first to the ball, passing and moving and scoring some fantastic goals. As well as scoring a hatrick Caitlin H also scored the best goal of the game. Sweeping past 4 defenders and thundering the ball into the net. Great skill!

By the end of the game, the Ref found it difficult to name a girl of the game as they had all battled hard, tackled solidly, passed fluently, headed regularly! and showed great determination to win. It was great to watch!
