Uppermill Blues 2 - Haughton Green 9 7/10/18 (Cup Game)
Haughton set the scene within a few moments of the kick off with an early break and goal. Despite Sam's best efforts in goal, with some cracking saves, Haughton pushed forward and one goal quickly turned into three!
Uppermill fought back with two first half goals from Joe and Luca but unfortunately the pace proved too much and by half time we were trailing 6-2. Ethan sustained a knock and had to take a breather just before the break, thankfully it was nothing serious and he managed to rejoin the game at the restart.
The lads battled on through the second half but despite their best efforts and some great individual performances they conceded another three goals.
Luca picked up a well deserved man of the match - well done 📷👏
A disappointing end to our cup run but whispers had been heard in the crowd that the focus this year is the league, so this could well have been part of the management's master plan for an early exit to save the legs 📷😉
