U12's Blues 14/10/18

Lee Bowden‎ to Uppermill FC 1 hr · Under 12's Vs Dukinfield Tigers Match report. A full team and a sub to boot were all set ready to enjoy a break in the weather. The Tigers started well and we seemed a little on edge but Sam got a few early touches and was quick of his line to settle things down. We soon got warmed up and after a couple of free kicks and a slightly high shot by Ellis, Joe started his innings on 14'. After 22 the Tigers had pulled level and it looked as if it was going to be a tough game. The lead was to change a couple more times. Joe scored another but it went to half time 2-2. Joe's hat trick was completed in 32 minutes but the Tigers were tough, tenacious and were not going to roll over easily for us. They were fast on the break and looked dangerous repeatedly getting forward in numbers and outnumbering our three at the back scoring another two. We weren't done though. Ellis' determination in pressurising the defence and battling his way behind their lines led to a curved shot round the keeper and the goal of the game. At 4-4 Sam made another great save but was unlucky a minute later when a load of scrabbling round in his box led to Tiger goal. Joes last minute shot was only just deflected over the crossbar by a fingertips save and it finished 5-4 to the Tigers. It was a hard game and could have gone either way. Ethan and Robin were resolute in defence putting there feet in well. Harrys shoulders made some great tackles. Luka took some knocks again. The midfield worked hard and It was great to see all the players working together putting a shift in. We're playing well and definitely due a win soon.
