Uppermill U12’s 3-1 Mossley U12s
Match Report : Eamonn Keane
Uppermill kept the winning streak going today in their penultimate (nice long word there, boys!) match before Christmas.
It was a hard-fought victory after a well organised Mossley side took the lead in the first half. The boys responded well to the challenge though, creating chances with some good football using both wings.
Man-of-the-match, Fletcher was in particularly fine form and he began the fightback by netting an equaliser after a great run and cross from Finlay.
After half-time, Uppermill became more dominant and more of the game was played in the Mossley half. They were always a threat however, so our defenders did well to limit their opportunities.
Two great second half goals earned the 3 points. Finlay was the provider again for the first of these and Luca finished it well.
Uppermill’s third owed a lot to Ethan, who carried the ball tenaciously out of defence, resisting multiple challenges and feeding Joe who got the goal his performance deserved.
There was no question of divided loyalties with Joe Jackson. He had a great game and was unlucky not to score.
A great team effort with everyone making an important contribution. Keep it going, boys!
